So how exactly does the EX-Stick work? The small tool is simply plugged between the keyboard and PC via USB. Once activated, the EX-Stick downloads the latest protected terms directly from the German Patent and Trade Mark Office every day and adds them to its internal blacklist.
If you now type a protected term into your keyboard, the EX-Stick software recognizes this and extrudes the corresponding term. Written texts are temporarily stored in the device and only sent to the computer after verification. Each protected word is then automatically replaced by a black bar. Of course, this means a small loss of time when writing (approx. 1-2s), but the additional security should be worth it.

Of course, you can still make some adjustments to the EX-Stick software. For example, you should specify which country you are currently in so that the databases are synchronized accordingly.
