Technische beschrijving iRocks Golem Keyboard K50E
The iRocks Golem K50E is the first keyboard that combines scissor technology, high keys, and gaming functions. Perfect for gaming, but you can also use it to type essays. ;)
Keys with scissor technology
The K50E is equipped with 3.8 mm scissor keys, each with a lifespan of around 30,000,000 cycles. So you can press a key 30 million times and more without hesitation. That's many, many hours in Tristram and Co. The scissor-like guidance of the keys can be imagined as a foldable deck chair. The advantage is that the keys always stand balanced and perpendicular to the circuit board even under heavy use, translating all commands without delay. This technology is particularly durable. You find keys with scissor technology mainly in notebooks so far; the K50E combines scissor technology with high keys. When pressing, you feel a pleasant resonance, which makes your fingers tire less quickly.
Lighting & Design
In contrast to the black keys, the underside and back of the K50E are painted red. The keys also light up in a strong red, but you can easily turn off the lighting with a press. The chosen serif font is a bit ornate and reminds one of the script in various RPGs.
Functions
Various sophisticated functions make gaming with the K50E smoother:
Thanks to anti-ghosting, multiple key presses are recognized without error. This keyboard avoids the effect with the most important game keys around WASD and the arrow keys. This area with all affected keys is marked in the photo. The keyboard has 24-key rollover in the WASD area via PS2 or 13-key rollover via USB, so you can press up to 24 keys at once - if you have enough fingers.
For optimal use, you can choose between four modes for gaming, typing, and surfing, easily set via the mode button. The normal mode is for normal typing speed, with the Windows and application keys activated. In the three gaming modes, you can choose between speeds of 13, 50, or 120 characters per second depending on the game and player requirements. This means that in the highest gaming setting, up to 120 keystrokes (commands per second) are supported! The higher sampling rate enables faster reactions during gaming. Which mode is right for you depends on your personal reaction time. :) For more leisurely gaming or normal typing, you should switch back down, otherwise, there may be duplications in input - which can be quite desirable when quickly reloading, for example. ;) You can fully utilize the modes with 50 and 120 keystrokes only via the PS2 interface; the adapter is included. Particularly nice is that in gaming mode, the Windows key and the application key are also deactivated, so you never accidentally catapult yourself out of the battle again. :) The activated mode is indicated by the turbo display at the top right.
In addition to the mentioned function keys, the K50E has volume keys and a number pad. The underside and the foldable feet have rubber pads, so nothing slips. The variable cable routing on the underside ensures order. You'll see, this keyboard is just great for passionate gaming. ;)
