Technische beschrijving Raspberry Pi Model B
It is often the case that inventions that are actually intended for children are even more popular with adults ;) It's the same with the Raspberry Pi. The small and, above all, very inexpensive mini computer was originally developed to introduce young people to technology.
The developers have managed to fit everything essential on a board the size of a credit card, making the tiny computer the perfect solution for media servers or robot control, for example. The Raspi is happy to accept extensions and hardware tinkering, as it provides standard sockets as well as the freely programmable GPIO interface.
Various accessories open up new possibilities:
- Housing
Available in three versions: White, black and transparent. Suitable for Raspberry Pi and Pi Face, no screws or glue required, works with clip-ins. If required, the housings can be attached to the wall, but four rubber mounts are also supplied as feet. With light guide so that the status display of the LEDs is visible. (Not compatible with the Raspberry Pi 2.)
- Embedded Pi
With the triple platform you can finally connect the Raspberry Pi, Arduino and 32-bit embedded ARM. Depending on how you set the jumpers, you can benefit from three modes:
- STM32 or standalone mode: the STM32 can control Arduino shields directly, a Raspberry Pi is not required.
- ST adapter mode: The Embedded Pi can be used to control the Arduino shields and the Raspberry Pi acts as a GUI or command console that can send/receive data and commands.
- Raspberry Pi mode: The Embedded Pi is the hardware connection between Raspberry Pi and Arduino Shields.
The Embedded Pi is easy to connect via GPIO. The 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 STM32F103 MCU operates at 72 MHz and has 128 KB Flash, 20 KB RAM and interfaces for motor control, USB and CAN.
- PiFace Digital
Interface card for controlling lights, motors and other devices. Simply plug the I/O expansion card into the Raspberry Pi and read or control connected sensors, switches, etc. via screw connections.
- 2 changeover contact relays
- 4 push-button switches
- 8 digital inputs
- 8 open-collector outputs
- 8 LED indicators
- Camera board
High-resolution video camera with 5MP sensor. Supports up to 1080 pixels (Full HD) for videos and 2592 x 1944 pixels for photos. The maximum frame rate is 30 fps.
As the camera only weighs around 3g and is a real dwarf at 20 x 25 x 10 mm, you can use it wonderfully for projects that are supposed to fly ;). It is connected via ribbon cable to the 15-pin serial MIPI camera interface (CSI; connector S2 on the Raspberry Pi computer board).
- XMBC Media Kit
Build your own media center based on the Raspbmc, a Linux distribution, by combining the contents of this kit with your Raspberry Pi or the Raspberry Pi Model 2 and your television.
The set contains:
- 4GB SD card, on which Raspbmc is already pre-installed
- Ethernet cable (3m)
- HDMI cable (1m)
- Wireless keyboard with touchpad
Contains none Raspberry Pi, you have to buy this separately.
