In The Mommy Observation, Raj takes advantage of Sheldon's absence to throw a murder mystery party. Unfortunately, his efforts are not well received by the others. Moreover, Stuart is a pretty bad corpse and Penny an even worse murderer... Maybe Raj should have relied on the classic Cluedo to bring some excitement to the search for the murderer. :)
In The Big Bang Theory Cluedo, however, it's not about murder, but about all the things that can upset Sheldon far more than a dead comic book seller (or a dying hairdresser). The following dramatic cases need to be solved: a dog-eared comic book, a destroyed Shelbot, a formula erased from the whiteboard, a deleted hard drive, stained sofa cushions, and a dirty toothbrush. The suspects are, as always, the careless "hippies" Penny, Leonard, Howard, Raj, Bernadette, and Amy.
The possible crime scenes are well-known from the series, such as the bathroom with the typical periodic table shower curtain, the laundry room, or Penny's living room. The game board depicts all these rooms. The various damaged items come as small metal figures. Additionally, there are game pieces with the portraits of the friends, various game cards, a notepad to collect clues, and of course, two dice.
As with classic Cluedo, the cards determine who the perpetrator is, what the offense is, and where the crime scene is. Then, it’s up to you to find out what happened through combining and tactical questioning. For a bit of variety, there are additional Sheldon cards that show Sheldon's text messages, which, for example, allow extra moves. But you can also play by the normal rules without Sheldon's know-it-all messages. ;)
As TBBT fans, you will recognize a lot in the game, plus there are quotes from the characters on the personality cards. If the whole thing still seems too complicated, the rules are simple and are described in detail in the included instructions. However, it is quite tricky to identify the cushion-stainer or hard drive-eraser. Therefore, just like at a murder mystery party, you should avoid Sheldon's participation. Either he solves the game in a second and spoils the fun for everyone, or Cluedo reveals one of his logical weaknesses and as a notoriously bad loser... he also spoils the fun for everyone. ;)
Cluedo is recommended for ages 8 and up and can be played with 2-6 players or two teams.
