Description Guesstimaster board game
How big is the market for men's razor blades in the USA?
That's one of the questions you'll have to answer in the game Guesstimaster game. Made up of the words "guess", "estimate" and "master", the Guesstimaster is the one who guesses and guesses best ;)
Guesstimaster is not only fun, but also helps you to find different ways to make a good estimate. The more knowledge you incorporate, the better your answer will be. It's basically about breaking down problems and questions into manageable parts and then using simple calculation methods to arrive at the answer. The game also allows calculators as an aid.
The game can be played in several modes: With the cards only, i.e. on the move, or with the game board. There is a logarithmic number spiral on the game board from 1 to 9,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. This means that the distance from 1-10 is the same as the distance from 100 to 1000. When a player makes a guess, they place their figure on the board to match. This continues in turn until all the pieces have been distributed.
Let's move on to the scoring: On the back of the cards, one point is awarded for answers in the long interval (one power of ten above and below the correct answer) and one point for all answers in the short interval (25% above and below the correct answer). In addition, the player whose piece is closest to the correct answer receives an extra point. The smallest distance counts and it is not about absolute numbers.
The winner is the player or team who reaches 7 points first. However, action cards make the game unpredictable and exciting at this point: answers can be swapped, for example, or only the player with the best answer receives points, while the others go away empty-handed.
Questions about technology, economics and general issues help to train your brain and develop problem-solving skills by thinking and puzzling together. Quite apart from that, the game is also great fun!
