Can there be anything more beautiful for a Trekkie than watching the Enterprise? You can now do this all the time while chatting, because our Enterprise has a built-in webcam:
The Star Trek Webcam is a small model of the USS Enterprise NCC 1701, from the original series with Captain Kirk. Its 640x480 pixel camera, which captures 30 frames per second, is located in the engineering section at the bottom of the Enterprise. When you plug in the Star Trek Webcam, two red glowing LEDs in the warp nacelles indicate that the camera is activated. To find the right position for filming, you can place the webcam on your desk with the flexible gooseneck or stick it to the monitor with the movable attachment part in the form of the Starfleet logo.
By the way, the Star Trek Webcam does not need a separate driver, as it is already provided by Windows or OS X. So you can simply plug in the webcam and use it immediately.
