Whether in the IRC chat, in the boss meeting or in bed: among nerds you talk Nerdish. Classic, unmistakable, straightforward. Okay, admittedly this can sometimes seem a little confusing and even off-putting to outsiders. But if you take your time and even learn a little Nerdish yourself, you can, like the "Talk NErDy to me" mug shows, you can win over any nerd.
Apart from that, nerdy is not that difficult. Here are a few examples:
- Hey, there are extraterrestrial life forms spawning in our fridge.
(Translation: There's disgusting mold on the food that was a piece of salami 6 weeks ago).
- Don't pull the mobs aggro or we'll wipe.
(Translation: Please stop provoking the scowling guys with the baseball bats or they'll kill us).
- I port back to home base and regge.
(Translation: I'm going home to get a good night's sleep).
- Sorry, but your skillset is too low level, it's not enough for the final quest.
(Translation: I'm sorry, but your grades are too poor to be admitted to the final exam).
Speaking Nerdish is sexy and exclusive and should always be the dialect of choice. We would particularly like to recommend the delicately breathed request Talk nerdy to me in situations where the stakes are high. Because no nerd can resist ;)
